Since entering private legal practice almost 30 years
ago, Stafford has won hundreds of cases in federal and state courts through
out the United States. He has had numerous dismissals and acquittals in
homicide and drug cases and has been successful in white-collar defense.
Stafford, a native of Fort Worth, received
his undergraduate degree from Texas Christian University and attended
South Texas College of Law. After graduating, he was a briefing attorney
for District Judge Miron A. Love, served two years as a public defender
and then went into private legal practice in 1978, resulting in an active
trial practice.
With energy, intelligence and strong
courtroom skills, Stafford makes favorable impressions on juries and
judges alike. Resourceful in creating and exploring legal defenses,
he has the experience, influence and connections to stand up for his
clients' rights. His reputation as a lawyer willing to go to trial positions
him well to secure favorable agreements, dismissals or acquittals for
his clients.
In addition, Stafford excels in behind-the-scenes
preparation for trial. Thorough research and investigation set him apart
from competitors, and he is a scholar of legal history and legislation.
Stafford and his associate, Deborah Keyser, often
collaborate on cases, pooling their resources and utilizing their distinctly
different strengths.
